Confidentiality is ensured by the encryption of all messages at SSL Record Protocol level. In addition, it provides mandatory verification of the server’s identity and optional verification of the client’s identity, through valid certificates by trustworthy Certificate Authorities. SSL is a global Internet standard and provides encrypted SSL communication, which is based on a symmetric and asymmetric encryption key. The specific key is stored at the consortium’s servers accessible only by specified System Administrators.
